This collection consists of the records of the Faculty Council. It includes meeting minutes, correspondence and memos, revisions of university policy, documents from other university departments, faculty newsletter and several versions of the Faculty Handbook. As these records were deposited from various retiring members of the Faculty Council, not all years contain the same level of documentation.

During DePaul University's early days, various colleges and schools held separate commencement ceremonies. The earliest date reflected in these files is of a mid-year commencement in 1932; the earliest summer commencement program included is from 1936. In 1942, there were five commencement ceremonies: February (mid-year), June (annual), August (summer), September (fall), and December (considered fall).
